Roscoe's High Contrast Moon and Stars Nursery/Office

Months of planning and posts on my inspirations have finally paid off in the form of a finished nursery! I'm very happy with the final space, and I hope our little guy (who, by the way, we're planning to call Roscoe) will be too.

The room that is now Roscoe's nursery also serves as our home office. I used a dresser (from Target), which doubles as a changing table, to divide the space, along with a room divider from Hayneedle. My mother-in-law made the pennant garland for my baby shower. The hamper and yellow tray (no longer available) are from Target. The changing pad cover is from Land of Nod.

We picked out the paint color (Behr Peacock Feather) when we moved into the house almost 6 years ago, and the room was going to be our guest room/office. With such a bold wall color, I wanted to keep the rest of the color scheme fairly neutral: black, white, and grey, with yellow accents. As the Dude from The Big Lebowski would say, the rug (from IKEA) really ties the room together. We also got the matching throw pillow cover.

Josh and I debated about every piece we purchased for the nursery. The rocking chair battle ending up being a truce. I got the rocking chair I wanted in the nursery and Josh got the rocking chair he wanted in the living room. We are officially ready to rock! Our little yellow pouf is from CB2. The yellow floor lamp is also from IKEA, but it does not appear to be available any longer.

Another big topic for debate was the crib. I won that round! We went with the Hudson Crib from Babyletto. The basket on the left is from IKEA.

Above the crib we have a gallery wall of moon and space related art. I wrote a post on these and some similar options a few weeks back if you are interested in finding out where they are from. All of the frames are from IKEA. The large moon print was actually a piece of Rodarte wrapping paper Samantha gave me a few years ago.

The gorgeous baby quilt was made by a relative. We've had the little dachshund lamp from Offi for years, but it definitely seems most at home in the nursery.

I made my own mobile, which was a fun project. I love the way it turned out! The table/chest is vintage. The book rack is from Amazon.

People gave us so many books at our showers, which my husband and I were both very happy about! We used the shelves we already had in the room to store most them. I believe the floating shelves were from West Elm, but we bought them many years ago and they are no longer available. The white bookshelf is from Target. We purchased a little Lego storage brick which will hopefully be overflowing with Legos in a few years. The black and white lamp print was made by a friend.

A few of the finishing touches for the nursery included this stuffed dachshund (guess what kind of dog we have...) from Etsy. I had to special request the black, white and yellow color combination, but the shop was very accommodating! I also love these little trucks from IKEA.

Hope you enjoyed this peek into our nursery and all the nursery-related posts I've written leading up to it. On Thursday, I'll share some photos of my sister's nursery!

  3. Hi Leah, I'd love to use the image of the room divider for a blog I'm writing on combining a nursery with a home office. Would that be ok? We will of course give you a credit and link to this page.
