Roscoe's High Contrast Moon and Stars Nursery/Office
Months of planning and posts on my inspirations have finally paid off in the form of a finished nursery! I'm very happy with the final space, and I hope our little guy (who, by the way, we're planning to call Roscoe) will be too.

Nursery Mobile Inspiration
I've been on the hunt for just the right mobile for my nursery for months. After searching high and low for something that matched my color scheme (black, white and yellow) as well as my theme (moon and stars), I've decided just to try making my own. But, I don't want all the work I did searching for mobiles to go to waste, so I'm going to share all the awesome ones I found with you!

Au Naturale
I think I may have multiple decor personality disorder. I'm generally a maximalist when it comes to design; I like bright colors, mixing patterns, and lots of accessories. But lately I've been feeling the neutral, minimalist vibe a little bit more, which is where natural fibers like rattan and raphia shine the most. Here are the pieces inspiring me to keep things au naturale.

Black and White Nursery Art
Etsy is pretty much unbeatable when it comes to finding inexpensive art for your home. I've been searching high and low for black and white moon or space themed artwork for the past few months to use in my nursery, and all of the pieces I've ended up purchasing are from Etsy. Here are a few of my favorites.

Spring Gingham
It's really, truly spring, and the print of the season is gingham! You might associate gingham with picnic tablecloths or country living, but there is a place for it in even the most urbane homes and wardrobes. Give it a try!

Spring Porch Refresh
With the warmer weather we've been having lately, I've been spending more time hanging out on my back and front porches. Though it feels like spring outside, I know we still have a ways to go before it looks like spring. In the meantime, I've decided to refresh my porch decor with a heavy dose of color. Here are a few pieces perfect for a spring porch reawakening.

Feeling Fishy
It's March, my favorite month of the year and also my birthday month. Like many born in March (and late February), I am a Pisces. The astrological symbol for Pisces is two fish swimming in opposite directions, so it is quite appropriate then that fish scales are one of my favorite design motifs.

Twelve Tiny Side Tables for Under $100
I'm of the opinion that you can never have too many accent tables. Every room of your home can benefit from an extra spot to place a cup of coffee, a cocktail, a magazine, a plant, a stack of books, etc. But increasing the utility of your space by adding accent tables need not cost an arm and a leg, nor do you need to sacrifice a lot of real estate. Here are twelve tiny side tables perfect for any area of the home, all under $100.

Modern Rockers
I like to rock. Judging from what I've seen in stores, these days gliders are the chair of choice for most nurseries. But for me gliding just isn't as satisfying as rocking. And while I enjoy a classic, traditional rocker, my dream nursery is decidedly modern in style, so my rocker must be also. Here are some gorgeous options for moms and dads who want to rock at a variety of price points.

What Should Have Been the Color of the Year?
Since 2000, Pantone has selected one shade as the Color of the Year. I still adore last year's color, Radiant Orchid. This year's selection, Marsala, a reddish brown shade more reminiscent of dried blood than wine, was a bit of a let down. Luckily, there are many other great colors to choose from in Pantone's Fashion Color Report Spring 2015. Read on to choose the hue you think will be the biggest this year.

Nursery Inspirations
Now that the holidays are over, I've begun to fully focus on preparing for the baby on the way. The main things I need to do at present are decorate the nursery and build my baby registry. Before I get too far with either of those projects, I need to decide what kind of space I want to create. I know that I want to keep the existing paint color in the room that will be the nursery: peacock blue. I haven't been able to find many examples of nurseries that use this color, but that isn't going to stop me because I love it. Since the main color of the room will be bold, I'm sticking mostly with black and white for accents, with pops of bright yellow. Black and white is a great color combination for a nursery, because babies find high contrast colors visually stimulating. Here are a few examples of modern nurseries with high contrast accents that are inspring me.

Gift Ideas for Handy Men (and Women)
Do you have someone in your life that you can always rely on to help you? I can think of many attractive qualities for human beings to possess, but perhaps none should be so highly prized as being handy. The stereotypical handyman most people think of carries a tool box, but being handy in today's world includes a broader spectrum of activities and people (hey, women can be handy too!) than ever before. Here are just a few ideas for making those valuable fix-it folks happy this holiday.

Gift Ideas for Animal Lovers
Most people would not feel comfortable giving someone an actual animal as a gift, and understandably so, as owning a pet is a serious commitment. But why not give the gift of animal companionship in a more manageable form: a gold turtle for storing secret treasures or a french bulldog bank to collect your spare change. Don't forget something for the pets in your lives, like maybe a new outfit or an extra special toy, like the DJ Cat Scratch Pad?
