Looking for a special drink for Valentine's Day? I recommend a Kir Royale. It involves my favorite celebration libation (champagne) as well as some delicious blackcurrent liqueur, crème de cassis. On a night when you've probably got a lot of things planned (going out for or making a romantic dinner, composing and reading romantic poetry, experimenting with the Kama Sutra, etc.) this simple two ingredient cocktail will get things started off nicely.
Kir Royale
Add 4 parts chilled dry champagne to 1 part Crème de Cassis. I like mine with a lemon twist.
Technically, a Kir Royale is an apéritif, usually meant for drinking before a meal, but they taste so good you will probably want to sip them all night long. Happy Valentine's Day!
