Product Review: DIY Spa Treatments by masque BAR

As more natural and bare make-up trends are sweeping the runways, the importance of amazing looking skin is greater than ever. Samantha and I recently tried a new line of high-quality and affordable facial masks from masque BAR. The line features two specialized treatments that can help enhance skin’s look, feel and texture – the Brightening Sheet Mask and the Anti-Blemish Mud Mask. Read on to see what we thought!

Leah:

I tried the Brightening Sheet Mask which is specially formulated to minimize the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation irregularities. Though I wear sunscreen daily, I am very fair and I do have a few dark spots, so I was really excited to try this mask! On the plus side, it has a very calming scent, featuring ingredients like orange extract, licorice root and vitamin C to help balance skin’s tone and intensify skin’s radiance. And I have to admit that my skin did seem more glowy afterward. On the other hand, I felt a bit like Hannibal Lecter while wearing the mask. I definitely recommend using this product around friends, as it will help you determine whether they can bear hanging out with you while you look as though you are wearing someone else's face on your face. As a bonus, it could be employed as part of a killer Halloween costume, pun very much intended.

Samantha:

If you're still reading this it means the above photo has yet to completely terrify you, which means you have a thick skin. That's good because you will need it to try the Anti-Blemish Mud Mask. Well maybe not thick, just not super wonky and sensitive like mine. The Anti-Blemish Mud Mask claims to feature a "non-drying formula which helps to cleanse, purify and balance troubled skin, and uses tea tree, Kaolin and vitamin A to soothe irritated skin and bumps while controlling excess oil." I must say, that when I washed it off, I had some serious redness going on, and I was a little concerned. Luckily, the next morning the redness was gone, and my skin looked great. In short, I would recommend this product to ladies with normal skin, but those with sensitive skin should tread lightly. This is not something to try before a night out.

For your next girls night, why not grab a few masks from masque BAR for a DIY spa experience? If you are like us, you will get some great laughs out of it at the very least, and maybe some awesome looking skin to boot. Both masks retail at $9.99 and are available exclusively at Target and Target.com.
