Today is the first day of fall, and to celebrate I've created a playlist about falling in love. Autumn is perhaps the most romantic season of them all, but it's a darker romance than that of the spring or summer, more likely to end in tears. Sometimes love hits you like a ton of bricks and takes you down, completely against your will. It is maybe for this reason that we say we fall in love, as if it were a giant, unknowable pit. This playlist celebrates that dangerous, star-crossed side of love.

I wouldn't want to give the impression that this playlist is entirely humorless or dark. It definitely verges into adult contemporary territory with the Simply Red song "Stars." The song's bassline is extremely cheesy, but remember, so is love, sometimes. In all honesty I think the song is amazing and overdue for an updated cover version.
